Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 26 May 2026
Thee Rainers is committed to making theerainers.com accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA and are actively working to meet that standard.
What we have implemented
- The site uses semantic HTML5 landmarks:
<header>,<nav>,<main>, and<footer>on every page. - Every
<img>element has a meaningfulaltattribute describing its content. - Decorative SVG icons use
aria-hidden="true"to avoid screen reader clutter. - The navigation mobile menu button has an
aria-labeland the active navigation item receivesaria-current="page". - The application and contact forms use explicit
<label>elements associated with each input viafor/id. - Colour is not the sole means of conveying information.
- The site is fully keyboard-navigable: all interactive elements are reachable by Tab and activatable by Enter or Space.
- The
lang="en"attribute is set on the root<html>element. - We use a variable font (Bricolage Grotesque) that renders well at all sizes and under browser text-zoom settings.
- We do not use animations that could trigger vestibular disorders; hero animations respect the
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query.
Known issues we are addressing
- Skip-to-content link: A skip navigation link (allowing keyboard users to bypass the site header and jump directly to main content) is not yet implemented. We are adding this.
- Email capture form labels: The email input fields on the free download forms (Footwork Foundation, 7-Lever Audit, Q&A registration) currently use placeholder text instead of a visible
<label>. This has been identified as a WCAG 1.3.1 failure and will be corrected in an upcoming update. - Colour contrast: Some secondary text elements use reduced-opacity colour values that may not meet the 4.5:1 contrast ratio for small body text at all zoom levels. We are reviewing and adjusting these.
Third-party content
Some pages embed YouTube video players. The accessibility of the YouTube player itself is outside our direct control. Where possible we use YouTube's nocookie variant. If you have difficulty with embedded video content, please contact us and we will provide an alternative.
